River House
The River House is one of two clubhouses on Spring Island. The beautiful lowcountry style building is set in the heart of Walker Landing and overlooks the Chechessee Creek, the community boat docks and the ever-changing salt marsh. The River House blends comfortably into its surroundings and contains a fine dining restaurant, the communities’ post office and the Club’s offices.The dining room is made up of a series of connecting rooms which are residential in scale to insure that the dining experience remains an intimate one. The inventive menu features locally sourced regional specialties and a thoughtfully designed wine list offers a fine selection of domestic and imported wines. Another popular feature of the clubhouse is the Gathering Room where you will find coffee and Danish in the morning, cookies and Spring tea in the afternoon and cocktails in the evenings when dinner is served at the River House. Adjoining decks, outdoor fireplace and landscaped lawns provide additional space for entertaining and enjoying the panoramic view.
Old Tabby Links
The Old Tabby Grill, located in the Golf House, offers a wonderful view of the 18th hole and adjoining salt marsh. Influenced by the availability of fresh local and regional provisions, the menu changes with the seasons and is ideal for a quick bite or a more leisurely lunch with friends. The comfortable bar is the perfect spot to gather before dinner or to celebrate a great day on the course. The restaurant is open year round. Breakfast and lunch are served daily and dinner alternates between the Old Tabby Grill and the dining room at the River House.
